Sailor Moon manga Eternal Editions and upcoming paperback versions pushed back yet again
Hello, Moonies, and welcome to the latest edition of my Sailor Moon email newsletter!
There’s quite a bit of Sailor Moon news to cover this week but, before we dive in, I’d like to thank everyone who shared last week’s email newsletter with all of their friends, family, and social media followers. There was an absolutely massive surge in views and new subscribers with the last newsletter that honestly blew me away.
I’m so glad that so many people are finding this new project of mine useful and seeing this reflected in the stats and number of new people signing up means more than I can put into words.

Now, on with the news and some bonus Sailor Moon manga information for those new to the series.
New Sailor Moon Manga Release Dates
It’s almost become a bit of a joke with fans now but all of the upcoming Sailor Moon manga books have been delayed yet again.
Both volumes of the Codename Sailor V manga Eternal Edition have been pushed back to September with the Sailor V manga’s Volume 1 and Volume 2 both now set for release on September 28th. The release of both of these will signal the end of the initial English release of the Japanese Third Gen Sailor Moon manga (the First Gen being the 90s TokyoPop releases and the Second Gen being the Kodansha paperback release from almost a decade ago).
The Naoko Takeuchi Collection Sailor Moon manga volumes have also been delayed. This Sailor Moon manga’s Volume 1 will now come out on September 14th.
The Naoko Takeuchi Collection version of the Sailor Moon manga is basically just a smaller and cheaper paperback release of the Eternal Edition release. This series features the same new and improved English translation featured in the Sailor V and Sailor Moon Eternal Edition manga volumes and is a good option for those on a budget or who found the Eternal Edition releases to be too heavy and large.
I class both the Eternal Edition and the Naoko Takeuchi Collection releases as being within the Third Generation of the Sailor Moon manga releases as they’re the same versions of the manga (chapter orders, page count, etc) and have the same English translation.
Where To Buy Sailor Moon Manga
Both the Sailor Moon and Sailor V manga can be bought via most major book store chains. Amazon is usually very reliable when it comes to pre-ordering and ordering manga though I’ve also used, and recommend the Book Depository which can be cheaper depending on which country you live in.
Is There a Sailor Moon Manga Box Set?
I get this question a lot. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a Sailor Moon Eternal Edition manga box set and it’s unlikely that there will be simply due to the fact that it would have to be insanely large. It’s possible that we’ll get a manga box set for the upcoming paperback release but that wouldn’t happen until all of the individual Sailor Moon and Sailor V volumes have come out which won’t be until sometime in 2023 at the earliest.
There were two Sailor Moon manga box sets released for the Second Gen release back in 2012-13 but these are now out of print and thus are incredibly expensive. I also wouldn’t recommend this release to anyone as the translation was incredibly rushed and unprofessional and in general just had some really unnatural English dialogue that detracted from the series enormously.

Over 55% of almost 850 Sailor Moon fans will watch Sailor Moon Eternal in Japanese before any other language (if at all.)
Speaking of Sailor Moon Eternal, more media has been added to the official listing on Netflix.
A new English trailer for Sailor Moon Eternal has also been released which you can watch here.
It looks like Fortnite could be adding some skins based on the Naruto anime in the near future. If anyone from Epic Games is reading this, please add some Sailor Moon skins too. Kaythanksbye!
A new Sailor Moon lottery has been announced for those based in Japan. This one will take place in November and will have a new Sailor Moon Eternal Princess Serenity model as one of its prizes.
It looks like the newly recoloured Cutie Moon Rod Proplica has been delayed until the 30th of May.
I absolutely love this new official Princess Serenity pen and these books that are coming to Sailor Moon Stores in July.
Some other new Sailor Moon Store products have also been announced.
