Plus loads of Banpresto Sailor Moon figures are on the way

Hello, Sailor Moon fans!

Sorry about the slight delay with the newsletter this week. Have been having some major internet dramas for the past fortnight or so that has really killed my productivity. Thankfully, my switch to a new service provider is now complete and I’m back online again.

On with the Sailor Moon news.

• Sailor Moon Eternal Part 2 has now debuted in Japan and several Japan-based Moonies have started sharing their impressions online. In short, viewers seem to absolutely love it (and Part 1) though audience numbers have been low, likely due to the ongoing global pandemic and Tokyo’s various states of emergency.

• A “Sailor Moon Crystal Season 5” covering the Stars arc has pretty much been confirmed by a short “To Be Continued” message at the end of Sailor Moon Eternal Part 2. No details have been announced yet.

• Any news on an International release for Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 and 2? Sorry, not yet. With both films now being out in Japan though, I personally think that something should be announced any day now so stay tuned!

• There’s some really stunning Sailor Moon Eternal jewelery coming out soon.

• Hot Topic has been stocking up on a lot of new Sailor Moon merch recently.

• Banpresto is releasing a large number of Sailor Moon figures based on all of the main Sailors from the Sailor Moon Eternal films. You can pre-order them all here.

• Real official Sailor Moon escape rooms are going to be a thing in Japan from April onwards. An official site with times and locations is now live.

• The upcoming new paperback release of the Sailor Moon manga has been delayed for unknown reasons. The first volume is now set to come out on June 15th as opposed to April 13th while the second and third volumes have been pushed back to August and October respectively.
